Or to give it its full title, the Super Carrier Navy Force! This battery operated (not included) cheap plastic stuff includes full directional rudder control! Here you can see it in all its glory -
To be fair, I was more impressed by this than I expected I would be. It resisted my attempts to sink it, and would – I think – withstand a child playing with it without being destroyed in two minutes. The buoyancy was actually pretty good for a cheap plastic thing, it would return to the surface even if held under for a sustained period, and the motor kept going the whole time, only slowing when it was massively drowned. Fairly nippy too, you can see the wake in the photo.
The only gripe that I have with this is that it claims to have fully directional rudder control and, whilst this is true, I fail to see how you can change the rudder direction whilst the ship is in motion, being as you’d have to somehow catch the rudder as it’s moving. Of course, for a 1 pound toy, this is pretty much forgivable, as otherwise it would have to be remote-controlled, or have some complex turning mechanism.
I give this Cheap Plastic Stuff 8 of our 10.
