too much tv

Sunday, July 6th, 2008

Who would have thought that watching the last episodes of Doctor Who and the last episodes of the House series on the same day would be such a draining experience. Damn those emotional series finales! Both were amazingly good programming. ooer.

LEGO

Laura has bought me Lego Indiana Jones, which is great fun. I am going to go back to playing it now. :)

Wii

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008

Mariokart Wii is awesome. Buy it now! It’s great fun! The wheel is a really funky addition to the controller, which, whilst not doing anything, does everything :D

Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz would probably be equally fun, if I could control it at all. But I can pretty much make the monkey go off the edge, or roll around until I run out of time.

Sonic and the lost rings (or something) falls pretty much neatly between the two.

Also the Wii is quite disturbing when the blue light flashes on and off.

Sweeney Todd

Sunday, January 27th, 2008

Just been to see Sweeney Todd, starring Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter and Alan Rickman. Pretty good. Another Tim Burton created piece of lavishness with fantastic artistry. The recreation of seedy-old-London-town was most fitting. We thought that the main characters were great, but the sub-story characters (Johanna and the sailor boy) were a bit overshadowed, so the story felt like it ebbed and flowed a bit as it switched between primary and secondary parts. Worth seeing overall though, if only for to hear Depp and Rickman dueting.

Simpsons Movie

Wednesday, August 15th, 2007

Today we saw The Simpsons Movie. Pretty funny I thought. Some memorable moments. It really was an extended version of the half-hour shows, with all the best bits squeezed in. All your favourite characters make an appearance. Fun for all the family with colour and simplicity for the kids and deeper references for the adults. Go see and enjoy.

In other news, we are considering emigrating to Canada in order that we might found a better life in a country that’s not as gone-to-pot. Watch this space!
