Vettel takes Malaysian Grand Prix

In what I would class as a largely processional race, Vettel took victory at Sepang – just ahead of teammate Webber, who he overtook off the start. Much of the finish was decided in the first couple of laps, with Hamilton outclassing Button to finish sixth ahead of Massa and then Button. Alonso was unlucky, losing his engine in the final stages (he was behind Button) and Schumacher was equally unlucky, having a loose wheel that took him out after only a few laps. Lucas di Grassi even managed to limp one of the Virgin Racing cars home, with it’s small tank.

In other news, Matt Smith made his debut Doctor Who appearance last night, with new companion Karen Gillan playing Amy Pond. An impressive introduction, I think, with the Doctor displaying the right amount of quirkiness and eccentricity, and the character of Amy coming through nicely too. Looking forward to the rest of the series, and wondering how the Tardis being unreliable in its timing is going to play into it…
