Ok so this has to be a sad reflection on the world of today. I mean, honestly, what the heck is going on here -

Look carefully at the bananas. EVERY SINGLE ONE has a split in the peel. This is completely unacceptable, they were only purchased yesterday. I have never seen such a happening before, though, this is a completely new phenomenon to me. Oddness. Maybe the cats were at them during the night or something.

So we’ve started the new year with a big freeze. The whole country has been enveloped in snow for quite a while. This led to this amazing image of frozen Britain being released by NASA. Looks pretty end-of-the-world-ish. We’ve had a slight thaw today, though more snow is promised to be on the way.

To try to make the most of it, we stuck our newly-acquired walking gear on and headed off to Fountains Abbey. It looks great in the snowy conditions and is great to walk around, providing you are suitably equipped of course, I wouldn’t fancy it in a pair of trainers.
