All the news today is full of the pilot and first officer of flight 1459 who successfully ditched their plane in the Hudson river after losing the engines to bird-strike. Really quite impressive.
In other news, and in vague relation to my post-before-last, a christian bus-driver has refused to drive one of the atheist-sloganed busses, claiming it to be shocking and horrific to claim that there may not be a God. Interestingly, even though he just walked off his shift, his management seem to have largely pandered to his demands not to drive the busses, which if nothing else shows that religion does have associated power. For example, I doubt that I could claim that I had a deep loathing of the colour red, so can’t drive any red busses. Yet because it’s a religious based argument it seems acceptable.
