WordPress 2.7 is out now. The admin section has been completely revamped and as a result is – I think – much easier to use. Not that it was hard to use before, but now things have even more fluidity.
If you are upgrading, you may find that your themes and plugins need refreshing, as features such as comment threading, sticky posts, and quick editing are now included in the core. I’d recommend upgrading your WordPress install as soon as you can. Of course, remember if you are currently running an older version (before 2.6) then your best results will come from upgrading in stages (or even, if you’re really behind, maybe exporting your content and starting afresh).

Why do you say upgrading in steps is better?
Generally you hit fewer issues if you upgrade in small increments (e.g no more than one point release at a time) than if you try to go from, say 2.3 directly to 2.7.
The main reason being that fewer people test the big upgrade leaps. In theory they should all be ok, but there have been problems in the past for people who’ve done big jumps.
It is best version Wordpres ever !
