All I can really say is thank all the gods ever that Obama won. His campagin motto was change, and hopefully that’s what we will see. I think immediate change may come in the attitudes of some of the Arab and Eastern countries that will no longer be dealing with Bush, and will now be dealing with the first black President. It may not ever be acknowledged, but I expect that it may soften some attitudes and help to break some barriers. McCain – despite being capable of a surprisingly gracious concession speech – would not have made the sort of difference that Obama is in the position to make. Also the fear that many had was not, in fact, McCain as President, but the idea that he could die at any moment and Sarah Palin would become the first – and most likely last – female President. That was a truely horrific thought.
So good luck President Obama.
