Turmoil

Saturday, September 27th, 2008

Urgh. There’s a big mess with the world’s economy. It’s all rather rubbish and cyclic. The good news, though, is that we won’t be running out of power over winter. That is pleasing. Also in the exciting happening news is the possible revival of The Krypton Factor, off of the 1980s. Although they have to be careful not to ruin it by taking away all the comedy clunkiness.

Universe 1 : LHC 0

Saturday, September 20th, 2008

So only a short while after my previous post, the Large Hadron Collidor is now out of action, after it broke and attempted to partially destroy itself. It’s been rather up and down lately with financial institutions dropping like flies and merging all over the place to keep themselves going, followed by various government rescue plans and self-congratulatory praise over dealing with such things. (Seems a bit premature if you ask me.)

Meanwhile, in the alternate, gaming, world, there’s a patch for Spore, that promises to reduce the insanely high frequency of the random attacks in the Space stage, and the release of Star Wars : The Force Unleashed, which promised to be good but on reading reviews sounds like it would probably be glitchy enough to annoy me immensly. I’ll probably wait for Lego Batman, or get Crysis Warhead instead.

Supercollider on, world still exists

Wednesday, September 10th, 2008

CERNs 27km long Large Hadron Collider was activated today, and the world continued to exist. This is quite fortunate, for otherwise I would have wasted the last moments of the world existing on a stupidly early train to London. Which simply would not have been on.

Wetness

Urgh. This country falls apart when we have rain. Which is quite silly considering that rain is pretty much the norm around here. It just seems that we can’t handle it. I do not know why. What I do know is that it’s not a lot of fun being in the rain all the time. I hope there’s a dry day or two next week.

Talking of rain, it’s stopped play in Andy Murray’s match against Nadal at the US Open semi. He was 2 sets up at the time.

Lately, I have mostly been playing Spore. The game is pretty quirky and fun. Designing stuff is a great part of the game. Some of the bits I am finding a bit confusing at the moment, which will probably change as I play it more. I will try to get some photos of the funky creatures on here, too.

New Google Browser

A new browser has been released, by Google. You can download it here. It seems ok. I am, in fact, writing this article in it right now. :)
