Lemsip? Only if you have a prescription.
Story on BBC News [news.bbc.co.uk].
Because some people use the ingredients in some common cold remedies available now over the counter, the latest in “let’s ban it” style ideas being floated is to make these medicines prescription only.
To me this is an insane proposal that would adversly affect loads of people for little or no benefit. Restriciting such commonly-used medicines would impose massive loads of work on Doctors and Hospitals, and discourage the general populous from using them, which could lead to poorer health in general, seeing as they would normally be a “front line” defence. That’s not even considering the bung the government would get from prescription charges.
Sigh.
