Travels and reading
Strangely, there’s a news article saying that the British are very complacent when it comes to travelling and Malaria [news.bbc.co.uk].
Surveys have suggested that a majority of people do not take health advice before travelling abroad and often do not have enough time to arrange medicines.
I find this quite mad, one of the first things I would want to sort out about any holiday that I took would be the vaccinations and things, it’d be quite crazy to risk getting Malaria or similar for not taking a few tablets. ![]()
Something I found quite sad was that a woman has died after falling from Ben Nevis in Scotland [news.bbc.co.uk]. The mountain has a travelled tourist path, but is apparently often shrouded in cloud. It just seems quite sad that someone should get lost and fall off.
In happier news, JK Rowling is to launch the latest Harry Potter novel in Edinburgh Castle [news.bbc.co.uk], to an audience of media and children competition winners. The event will be broadcast on the tv and radio, and after the initial unveiling and reading the children get a Harry Potter style banquet, which would be quite funky. Of course, I am too old for that ![]()
