It’s very sensible

Endings, Campings, Beginnings.

Friday, April 8th, 2005

Hi guys and girls!

The week has gone by pretty quickly, here we are at Friday [photofriday.com] again.

Let’s take a quick look at some of the happenings.

Pope John Paul II was buried today [news.bbc.co.uk] after a funeral service at which thousands of people were in attendence, including many world leaders.

People have started camping out for Star Wars [news.bbc.co.uk], even though the film does not open for another seven weeks. That’s completely ridiculous in my opinion, and it makes me wonder why people have nothing to do.

And really as for the rest of the news, well, it’s skipped by too quickly. Apparently there’s an Election [news.bbc.co.uk] soon.

Pope John Paul II passes on

Sunday, April 3rd, 2005

The main story of the weekend is the passing of Pope John Paul II, pope since 1978 he has been one of the longer serving popes. Mourners gather to honour the pope [news.bbc.co.uk] and here we can see some of them in pictures [news.bbc.co.uk].

Here we can see a short obituary of the Pope [news.bbc.co.uk], at 58 he was the youngest pope for around a century, and had a strenuous time of it, even being shot twice in 1981. He was the first non-italian pope in over 450 years, and, in my opinion, a good example of sticking strongly to beliefs - whether or not you agreed with them.

What happens next? [news.bbc.co.uk].
