Baghdad resistance vanishes

Saddam’s regieme has apparently vanished from Baghdad [news.bbc.co.uk] overnight, with journalists having their first day without government minders. There has been some looting and occasional gunshot, but the power base seems to have fallen.

Sunday

End of another week. This week ends with day fifteen of mouldy bread, Basra mostly under UK control [news.bbc.co.uk], the US moving around Baghdad [news.bbc.co.uk] and Kimi Raikkonen winning the Brazilian Grand Prix [news.bbc.co.uk], in a race that saw lots of crashes, and a winner who wasn’t actually in the lead when it ended.
