It begins - Mouldy Bread
Okay, you’ve had moudly soup, so now I bring you mouldy bread, where you can watch a piece of bread as it goes mouldy day by day. I have no idea what this will turn out like. Hopefully it should be quite good. Another pic tomorrow.
Edited to add - This is my series of pictures showing mouldy bread. I’ve also done mouldy soup. The bread project that I did really didn’t actually go that mouldy, I think mainly because I kept it sealed most of the time and it was very dry. If you want fast-moulding bread then buy cheap bread and keep it in the original packaging, but open, would be my guess.

I would like to know what makes bread go mouldy? How does it begin? I am doing an assignment for school and I would like to know also, which bread goes mouldy first- White bread or Brown bread?

Yes, your bread will not go mouldy without exposure to air, as it’s the air that feeds the mould.

I would like to know what makes bread go mouldy? How does it begin? I am doing an assignment for school and I would like to know also, which bread is likely to mould first: fresh bakery bread or supermarket stored packet bread? Why?

im in yr 7 and decided to do this as my experiment by putting the bread in a bag completly sealed. to make it intresting though ive put milk on 1 piece, water on 1 piece and vinegar on 1 piece along with a plain peice of bread

That sounds pretty cool. My guess would be that your milk one will be the most mouldy, as milk is fairly full of organisms. It’ll probably start to smell, too. :/

you dont realy tell much!!!
Edited by mrmist to reply - What else would you like to know? The pictures of the bread sorta speak for themselves really. It wasn’t as successful as mouldy soup, mainly because the bread was kept dry I think.
