Bounce

Went out in Nottingham last night. Got nicely drunk and had far too little sleep. Most amusing night, though I imagine the details aren’t suitable for blogging. Was supposed to be driving to Liverpool today but frankly can’t be arsed as it would require me to stay asleep which isn’t happening. Hence would be extremely dangerous amongst other things.

Folk searching for a backpacker missing in Northern Queensland [news.bbc.co.uk] have found a message on a tree that could be from her. She is still missing though after a few nights lost on the mountain. Hopefully they will find her soon.

This Week

Thursday, November 28th, 2002

This week I will be mostly updating on Saturday about midday and Sunday evening. Meanwhile my house is progressing at a crawl rate. Apparently the seller’s solicitor has got the deeds now but mine still hasn’t had a contract from them, so that’s not very good. That means nothing is moving until *next* week now. *arrg* :)

I can’t help it

I just find this [news.bbc.co.uk] wierd. I can’t quite get my head around Iraq having to present evidence that it doesn’t have something. That would be like asking me to prove that I don’t have a ferrari, or something. I mean, I could show that I don’t have a ferrari in my driveway, but how would I ever prove that, somewhere, I don’t have a ferrari. I can’t. So I don’t quite understand how Iraq is meant to. Or is that the point? [end cynical mode]

Notably

Sarah Payne’s killer Roy Whiting has been set a minimum 50 year jail term for his crime [news.bbc.co.uk], effectively meaning he can never leave prison. I can’t see the human rights lot going for that much really, especially once the home secretary loses the right to set terms and the balance of justice switches in favour of the criminal yet again.

The number of teens who have smoked cannabis is going up [news.bbc.co.uk] as is the number who believe cannabis to be a safe drug. Hmm. Well I guess it’s safer than other drugs, so in one respect they’re right. Elsewise I think it’s still not proven, not that that should hinder anyone from smoking it of course.
