More mouldy chicken soup. woohoo!
yaay. Today’s cheap plastic stuff (of the week) is a cheap plastic version of an old game. You may click on this snap happy hippos cheap plastic stuff link to find out what the exciting toy is for this week. It’s certainly not sedate this week. Mad. Mad I say.
In what was possibly the only outcome, Russian security forces stormed the theatre where around 700 people were being held hostage [news.bbc.co.uk] last night. Depending on where you read it, between 10-20 hostages were killed during the operation, and the members of the rebel group were either killed, arrrested, or escaped. They had already begun executing the hostages though, so I guess the options available were to storm the building and risk losing a few more, or sit by and watch whilst the group killed all the hostages. Disturbing situation, makes you wonder what places are safe these days.
Things in the news now :
An armed gang holding hostages in a Moscow theatre has thretened to start killing them unless Russia withdraws from Chechnya [news.bbc.co.uk]. A horrible situation this one, with many many innocent people being held as hostages, in a situation that the group can not really except to achieve their aims, surely.
US police have seemingly caught the sniper that has been randomly killing for the last few weeks [news.bbc.co.uk]. Alabama authorities are looking for the death penalty if convicted, though there seems to be some dispute over where they will be tried.
Long talks between the government and the firefighters union have apparently been promising today [news.bbc.co.uk] as the sides work to try to avoid a strike that is due to start on Tuesday.
Extremely unusual for me I know, but this weekend I will be giving you cheap plastic stuff and more mouldy soup. But not yet, as they are not ready yet, I have to prepare them first. So for now I will do the usual weekly Friday Five [fridayfive.org] which this week has a halloween theme. (OOo, spooky.)
1. What is your favorite scary movie?
I don’t like scary movies. They’re scary.
2. What is your favorite Halloween treat?
What’s a halloween treat? is there special halloween food, or are we talking like a halloween shag or something? That’d be fine.
3. Do you dress up for Halloween? If so, describe your best Halloween costume.
Err, no.
4. Do you enjoy going to haunted houses or other spooky events?
I’ve only ever been to one haunted house, and one halloween spooky event, so far as I remember, so to say i enjoy them implies more involvement than I have. So no.
5. Will you dress up for Halloween this year?
I doubt it. I might do weird magical rituals though. No really.
