Mr Mist’s Blog

It’s very sensible

Today brings Cheap Plastic Stuff sponsored by Hoa and Ben, which is the first piece of cheap plastic stuff that I have not bought personally out of my own pocket. So, naturally it’s less cheap than the normal selection. I’m not entirely sure what it’s supposed to *do* though. Go take a look and see if you can figure it out.

Also on the list for today, is day 14 of mouldy soup, mmmm, tasty.. The mould grows nicely as it is supposed to, if a little slowly for my liking.

Friday five [fridayfive.org]…

It’s friday, so it must be that time again. Let’s see what they have…

1. What size shoe do you wear?

They’re size ten. Feet in proportion, I suppose.

2. How many pairs of shoes do you own?

About five or six. But I don’t wear them all. Not at the same time anyway.

3. What type of shoe do you prefer (boots, sneakers, pumps, etc.)?

Recently, trainers. Up until then I’d always worn my Caterpiller shoes, but lately trainers have gained preference.

4. Describe your favorite pair of shoes. Why are they your favorite?

I don’t like any pair enough to have a favourite really.

5. What’s the most you’ve spent on one pair of shoes?

Probably about 80 quid or so, on hiking boots.

And that’s the friday five for today.

In the news…

The A-Level re-marking fiasco [news.bbc.co.uk] continues, with boards changing which marks are to be re-graded on a daily (or even hourly) basis [news.bbc.co.uk]. Of course it’s too late for those folk who have already signed up and gone to a different uni than they might have gone to, but who knows, maybe it will be better for them like that.

Who know’s what I would have done if I’d have got bad A-Level results. Oh, wait, I did.. So we know what happens, you end up writing strange blogs..

Apparently there’s another microsoft outlook virus about, this one is known as Bugbear and works in the usual manner, spreading itself through their flawed software and its address book, if I understand correctly. A more complete description, with info on how to remove the virus can be found here [www.symantec.com]. I don’t think I’ve got it yet.

Lastly for this entry, America’s hard line stance on the Iraqi situation is making the country increasingly more isolated [news.bbc.co.uk] as both Russia and France call for the return of inspectors without delay, regardless of US demands for a new UN resolution.

Its Maneki Neko, a japanese cat that is supposed to invite good luck, wealth and prosperity, amongst other positive things. I say you lick the sucker and stick it to your forehead, just to be sure :)

Glad you liked the scary cat. It was a bit of a panic buy to get rid of loose change before getting on a plane.

I have an idea….stick the suction thing to the glass on your door (if you have any) and the bell will ring ever time someone walks in. Kind-of like you’re living in a cheap restaurant. =)
