The Waves
Monday, September 30th, 2002New mouldy soup - day 13. Yes, another spectacular view on soup looking nasty.
My latest PS2 games (my only PS2 games) are Devil May Cry [www.capcom.com] and Final Fantasy X [www.squaresoft.com]. Final Fantasy X is a lovely game with lots of impressive video and sound for the characters. (Auron’s character especially is very believable I think.) A little slow to get started I thought but once into it it’s very addictive and playable, and the controls are very intuiative.
Devil May Cry is a fairly old game now (well a few months old). In it you play some weird kind of devil/man hybrid thing for best I can make out. Controls are fairly simple but I have trouble making the guy jump the way I want him to. I’m stuck fairly early in the game where a big spider keeps killing the character. The graphics and sound are nice with good music bits, but some bits have text to describe things where it would have been nice to have voice acting. Probably in the sequel.
Anyway so they are taking up my time right now. Along with looking for a house.
I’ve finished off my Open University course [www.open.ac.uk] S103 science, so now all I can do is sit and wait for the results to come through. I hope I pass it. The final coursework was 70% based on a 1000 word essay, not much for something which basically decides if you pass or fail. Oh well, I shall see.
It seems that Iraq has been firing more missiles at allied planes [news.bbc.co.uk]. So they either have been, or they’ve always been doing the same thing but it is seen that now is a good time to release such news to the media. Who knows which?
Google is doing well [news.bbc.co.uk]. Good for them [www.google.com].
