Stoning seems to be all the rage these days. It seems now that a man in Nigeria is the latest to be put on the stoning list [news.bbc.co.uk], this time for the rape of a minor, following on from the failure of an appeal for Amina Lowal’s against the sentance for her crime of adultary. The man though has no intention of appealing.
Stoning seems somewhat incongrous with civilised society though really.
Want Broadband? Can’t get it? Sign up and pre-register [www.theregister.co.uk] as apparently this will make the appearance of ADSL in your area more likely. Though I have to admit that when you look at the prereg info and it says that your area needs another 700 customers, it’s hardly appealing…
Are you a bad person? [news.bbc.co.uk]. You could be if you’re copying CDs, and downloading music from the Internet. Yes. The entire responsibility for the downturn in the overpriced CD industry rests with you, the pirate [www.theregister.co.uk] and in no way is it the fault of a general slow down in the economy, or that CDs cost too much, or anything like that. No.
Are the Austrlian’s backwards, or does their census just happen after ours [news.bbc.co.uk] because now we’re hearing of the number of folk who put Jedi down as their religion on the census forms over there. We did that so long ago. It wont appear in the stats over there though, like it did here. ![]()
I’m back again for a bit now. Weekend was good and got lots of stuff done that would not have been done otherwise. Still need to sort some things though. I’m unbalanced again now. One of the worst things is when things are wrong but you don’t know the right actions to put them right, or you can’t. Still. Something.
The world development summit is underway [news.bbc.co.uk]. Ten days of discussion on world issues. The world’s biggest contributor to pollution and such, the USA, will not be represented there by its head of state. Hmm.
Some strange folk decided to burn down the toilet blocks at the Leeds Festivel [news.bbc.co.uk]. There was then a stand off between a group of the great unwashed throwing stones and bottles and the police. So typical festivel atmosphere really.
I’m off now, so I leave you with chicken soup until I get back in a couple of days… See you then!

1. What is your current occupation? Is this what you chose to be doing at this point in your life? Why or why not?
I’m currently a databsae developer. It’s not exactly what I would choose to be doing if I could do anything. Mainly because I don’t know what I would choose.
2. If time/talent/money were no object, what would your dream occupation be?
I would spend my time meeting different people and writing strange things in my weblog.
3. What did/do your parents do for a living? Has this had any influence on your career choices?
My parents have ordinary jobs. This probably influenced me to have an ordinary job instead of being an astronaut, film star or stripper.
4. Have you ever had to choose between having a career and having a family?
Nope.
5. In your opinion, what is the easiest job in the world? What is the hardest? Why?
The easiest job is probably one where a person does exactly what they want. The hardest ones must be things like being a doctor or a teacher.
