Big Brother

Wednesday, May 29th, 2002

Heh. I can’t believe the number of searches I’ve had coming to the site about Big Brother. It must be stupidly popular. Frankly I’ve only caught one episode so far, and I think that was enough really. The "characters" in this series are much more intent on instant fame than taking part in the experiment, or so it appears in any case. Jade is just irritating.

Anyway, I thought I’d write the above just because I’d best write something to be relevant to the people coming here. ;)
In other news, I’ve been offered a new job, up near Sheffield. So I may well be mooving back up north soon. heh.

Elsewhere in the world, the UN has produced a report on some Southern African countries that shows that up to 10 million people could be facing starvation [news.bbc.co.uk]. Malawi, Zimbabwe, Lesotho and Swaziland are brought out of being in imminant danger of famine troubles unless swift action is taken to hold it. :|

Purple

Not a whole lot to blog today. Things have happened in the news but nothing that I particularly want to write about.

I have a mouldy soup pic for you, number 35 in the series. I will have to decide what to do with the soup soon, it’s starting to unnerve me. *wibble*

Car went in for service today. Job interview tomorow.

That’s all for now, I think. :)

Sorry for the delay

Normal service has been resumed today. I bring you Mouldy Soup Picture 34 as well as last week’s Cheap Plastic Stuff for your delight.

The mouldy soup mostly speaks for itself, being completely disgusting now. The cheap plastic stuff of the week is a labyrinth maze ball game which would be fairly good for its price if it worked properly. Go take a look at it by clicking on the link.

My email seems to be running very slow lately. Apologies if I owe you an email and haven’t got back to it…

In the news lately, various rumblings about missions to mars, in the light of ice water being discovered there [news.bbc.co.uk]. Under the ocean here, more hot springs have been discovered off the coast of New Zealand [news.bbc.co.uk]. The hot pools over there are fascinating, and it produces some lovely hot water too. Mmm, relaxing. Lastly for now, distribution of the new secure five pound note has been suspended [news.bbc.co.uk] after it was "discovered" that you could easily rub off the serial numbers. Hmm, and this is supposed to be secure? Noone tests for this *before* the notes go out? *boggle*

Change

Sunday, May 26th, 2002

Ahah! For a nice change M Schumacher has not won the Monaco Grand Prix [news.bbc.co.uk], instead David Coulthard drove a lovely race to finish in P1, with Schumacher a close second and brother Schumacher third. Still an eventfull race with engine smoke and crashes into barriers and suchlike.

Today’s randomness

Sunday, May 26th, 2002

Hello, today’s randomness starts with this web site [extralution.org/voices/] (which I think is called voices). It’s a blog. It’s got quite an interesting picture of some kind of bear painting a picture (or on top of an abstract pizza box, I’m not sure which.) The owner linked to me saying that I’m not manic depressive. Heh. (Garrg. It’s true, my secret has been revealed, I’m not totally depressed.) Actually I do try to keep the tone of this site pretty humourous and upbeat, but you lovely readers probably can’t tell because of the way I overuse dry sarcasm. Which is difficult to tell in a text medium. Oh well.

The Monaco Grand Prix [news.bbc.co.uk] is about to start. Small twisty roads in a place where the rich people live. Must be good to be there. *wistful sigh* :) Still, I didn’t win the lottery - oops sorry, lotto - yesterday for a change so I won’t be able to move yet.

First reports on the China Airlines crash the other day suggest that the plane broke into four pieces in mid-air [news.bbc.co.uk]. It’s still not quite sure why yet though.
