The end to a perfect week
Well, in fact it hasn’t been a perfect week at all, but today brought closure (mostly). Two of my colleagues were fired this morning, based on all stuff that was brought against them. Another two were given “final written warnings” which is one step from being fired. I was called in and told that I could not submit a conditional resignation (based on their being improvements in the conditions). They asked me what I wanted to do. I said fine, then I resign. They said they needed it in writing and that I might like to think about it over the weekend. I went and typed it out and gave it to them. I went back to work. A few minutes later they called me and told me I did not have to work my notice period. They gave me a letter confirming all this. I left. We went to the pub.
Two of the staff along with the other staff member who was never affected have to go back to work on monday, so effectively the workforce has halved, and it was practically unworkable before. A new person is starting there on Monday, I wish him luck as he has no idea what he has gotten himself into.
I should be paid until mid june. I then need another job. Anyone need web work, or PC administration? I can do lots, very well. Please get in touch!
